$1.5M ‘coke’ in salsa sauces Wednesday, April 10 2013
A 40-YEAR-OLD man from Freedom Street, Enterprise, Chaguanas is expected to appear before a Tunapuna magistrate today charged with possession of an estimated $1.5 million in cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
THREE men appeared before a San Fernando magistrate yesterday charged with trafficking in over ten kilos of cocaine said to worth millions of dollars. The kilos of cocaine, some of which are said to be in liquid form, were brought to the court along with the three accused.

NATIONAL Security Minister Gary Griffith yesterday hinted that the $.6 billion cocaine bust in Norfolk, Virginia, which was concealed in juices belonging to a local manufacturer, may have resulted from a tip-off originating from our shores.

$22m drug haul
North Eastern Division police made a significant breakthrough on Thursday afternoon in their war against narcotics when they seized an estimated $22.5 million in cocaine and marijuana during an exercise along North Coast Road. This was revealed in a press briefing yesterday at Morvant Police Station by the division’s Senior Superintendent, Afzal Khan.

Four held in $1m cocaine bust
FOUR people, including a Colombian national, are expected to appear before an Arima magistrate this week after they were arrested at a La Horquetta house yesterday with more than a million dollars worth of cocaine in their possession.

$1.5m ganja bust at Grande Riviere
A SEARCH for hikers turned into a drug bust between Saturday night and yesterday when during an aerial search for the nine missing people the powerful lights of a National Operations Centre (NOC) helicopter caught bales of marijuana being loaded off a pirogue.
As a result, nine hikers had indeed been rescued but the police also hauled in 152.68 kilos of marijuana along with cartons of contraband cigarettes.
The drama began at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday during the search for the hikers.
Police said that the hikers were located in quick time. They had ample supplies and were okay.
Something else, however, was found namely floating amid the choppy waters off Grande Riviere.

Coast Guard seize $10m in drugs
Coast Guard officers arrested two men and seized over $10 million in illegal drugs yesterday after they intercepted a boat in south Trinidad.
According to a release from the Coast Guard, around 8 am officers intercepted the pirogue, named “Ruth”, off the coast of the southern peninsula loaded with packages of marijuana and cocaine.
It was towed to Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas, headquarters of the Coast Guard where 100 packets of marijuana and two packets of cocaine were found in a crocus bags.

Two men from Santa Cruz and Belmont were arrested on February 11, after they were held with pure cocaine with an estimated street value of $4.5 million.
The men, 54 and 66, were travelling along Golden Grove Road, Arouca when there were intercepted by members of the Northern Division Task Force, according to police sources.
